By becoming a member of tobaccodependence.org , you get access to an exclusive collection of Resources and gain the ability to post and read messages in our Community Discussion Forum. You will also receive our monthly email newsletter with information on the latest research, funding opportunities, trainings, events, advocacy actions, and other hot topics of discussion in our Community of Learning and Action.

Disclosure:
The New York State Tobacco Dependence Resource Center provides tobaccodependence.org as a service for chemical dependency professionals through a Promising Interventions in Tobacco Control Grant from the NYS Department of Health, Division of Chronic Disease Prevention and Adult Health. Our project, "Integrating Tobacco Dependence Interventions into Chemical Dependency Programs," is intended to evaluate the impact of this website on New York State chemical dependency professional knowledge, skills, motivation and behavior regarding the integration of tobacco dependence interventions into chemical dependency programs. To do this, we need to collect information from our Members.
By sharing your information with us, you are supporting our Community in two ways:
- You help us to constantly improve the quality of resources and discussion on this website.
- You help build an evidence base of how a web-based community can influence the way tobacco dependence interventions and chemical dependency services are delivered.

Information We Collect from our Members:
We collect our through Survey questions and through a Tracking system. In both cases, all information is anonymous and only aggregate (grouped) responses are used. No personally identifiable information will ever be shared.
- Survey Questions: To become a Member, you will be asked to answer a series of questions about yourself, your experience, and your views about tobacco dependence. You will be asked to complete additional surveys six, twelve, and eighteen months after becoming a Member.
- Tracking System: As Members use the website, we collect information to help us determine which parts of the website are most useful, including: number and types of pages viewed, number and types of discussion forum topics viewed, number and types of files downloaded, and number and types of discussion forum messages posted.

We share our results with the New York State Tobacco Control Program, a Program of the NYS Department of Health, Division of Chronic Disease Prevention and Adult Health.
